Discover the ancient Kingdom of Idalion

Step back in time into the rich history of Cyprus with this fascinating tour of the Dali area.  

CIWOT Member, Katharine Stinson, has family connections to the site of one of the world’s most significant archeologic finds.  She can tell us all about the discovery of the treasures of the ancient Kingdom of Idalion (with many treasures now on display at the Louvre and other world famous museums).  She will take us to the local archeologic museum and the archeological dig which is active and still unearthing rich treasures of the past.   

We will also visit Agios Sozomenos and learn the story of its poignant history. 

We will look at the palace of Queen Katerina, the last Queen of Cyprus and learn the story of Cyprus as a Venetian possession.  

We will finish off with a late lunch at a local tavern.
