Meet The Nominees
CIWOT Board 2025-2026

Carine Khoury
PRESIDENT
Q: Why are you interested in this position, and what can you offer?
I have been an enthusiastic member of CIWOT for almost 15 years, most recently in the position of Vice President, which I enjoyed very much. Prior to that, I was involved as Public Relations Officer, Business Club coordinator and Advisor to the Board.
I would like to continue to contribute to the board, our membership, and CIWOT as a whole with my extensive experience as an active and established participant in the local Limassol community.
Running my own business 'Floral Image Cyprus' equips me with a variety of qualifications that can help ensure the successful continuation of CIWOT’s path, as well as the use of my existing network to hopefully expand CIWOT’s reach even further.
Taking on the position of President seems like a seamless move towards continuing the legacy of our previous presidents, while at the same time allowing me to add my own input and ideas to consistently evolve our association.
Q: Where are you from originally?
I am German Lebanese, was born in Beirut and grew up in Greece due to the Lebanese civil war in the 70’s and 80’s. My husband and I moved to Cyprus in 2005.
Q: What skills or talents do you have that most people don't know about?
I am very grateful for my mixed heritage, as I have had the pleasure of growing up in a multicultural and multilingual family. I speak six languages fluently and have lived in 10 countries, also as a consequence of my primary career choice in international hotel management.
Q: What are your hobbies?
Going for long walks along the beach with my husband on Sundays, getting my half hour of daily morning exercise and run, reading, and spending time with my two teenage sons.

Catalina Bertoglio
MEMBERSHIP COORDINATOR
Q: Why are you interested in this position, and what can you offer?
I'm interested in this position because I’ve been closely involved with CIWOT’s membership process for quite some time. Initially, while managing the association’s website, I became familiar with the steps involved in onboarding new members. Later, I naturally stepped into the role of Membership Coordinator, which I’ve held until now.
I believe I’m well-suited for this role because I genuinely enjoy organizing and streamlining systems. When I first joined CIWOT, membership renewals were handled manually — the coordinator had to personally contact each member by phone or email to remind them. Renewals were based on individual join dates, rather than following a unified January-to-December cycle as we now have. Payments were mostly made in cash; today, the majority are automated through credit card or bank transfer. Members can now view and manage their own memberships directly through our platform. This improved structure ensures greater consistency from one board to the next and makes the entire process more efficient and user-friendly.
Q: Where are you from originally?
I’m originally from Santiago, Chile.
Q: What skills or talents do you have that most people don't know about?
I write fiction and love singing. I also enjoy cooking — it's a creative outlet for me — and I have a strong interest in e-commerce and branding. I run my own online business focused on elegant European porcelain, where I combine my love of storytelling, aesthetics, and design
Q: What are your hobbies?
In my personal life, I find joy in simple, quiet things: walking in nature with my dogs, admiring a beautiful landscape, or enjoying a moment of silence. In recent years, I’ve also developed a growing interest in politics and global affairs, as I try to better understand the changing world we live in.

I’ve also organised and led art classes, workshops, and fundraising events. My involvement in CIWOT includes leading portraiture workshops and contributing to the recent Cultural Tour of Ancient Idalion

Q: Why are you interested in this position, and what can you offer?
Meaningful connections are the foundation of any thriving community. I bring strong marketing and communication skills, a creative mindset, and a genuine commitment to making every woman feel welcome, valued, and part of something bigger.
Q: Where are you from originally?
I’m originally from Israel and moved to Limassol, Cyprus, about a year ago with my partner. I grew up in Nigeria and attended an American Int. I currently work remotely in int. marketing and communications—a field that keeps me connected with people from diverse cultures and perspectives.
