Serving on the CIWOT Board is a wonderful opportunity to connect more deeply with our community, develop new skills, share your ideas, and help shape the future of CIWOT. Whether you are full of experience or completely new to volunteering, we would love to hear from you!
A few things to know before nominating:
• You may nominate yourself for any role that interests you — or nominate another CIWOT Member you believe would be a great fit.
• You may submit more than one nomination (for yourself or others) for different roles.
• Each Board Member may hold only one official role/position at a time.
• If nominating yourself for several roles, please indicate your order of preference (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.).
• All nominees will be contacted by the Election Team before being officially announced to Members.
• All nominations are voluntary, and nominees are free to accept or decline.
• Board terms run from 1st July 2026 until 30th June 2027.
• Nominees may also choose to stand for a 2-year term if desired (please advise the Nominating Team and Board in advance).
Many members are surprised to discover how manageable and rewarding a Board role can be. On average, around 1–2 hours per week is enough to stay up to date, although occasionally more time may be needed during larger events or projects.
Most importantly: the CIWOT Board works as a TEAM. No one is expected to do everything alone, and support is always available. Training and guidance are provided for all Board Members, so no previous Board experience is required — just enthusiasm, reliability, and a willingness to contribute.
