Visit to Kato Drys

Kato Drys is a small village southwest of Larnaca near Vavla and Lefkara. It is in hilly terrain with the river Agios Minas running through it. St Neophytos was born here in1134, and the house still stands, and a small church is dedicated to him. Kato Drys has interesting architecture and is a picturesque village on two levels. 

Folk Museum and Cooking Workshop

We will visit the folk museum and have a" hands on’ cooking workshop. Lydia will demonstrate making a traditional pie/cake from the village using wild seeds from the pistachio family. The workshop is free from 10/11.15am

Note. There is another time for the workshop 3/4.15pm. It will be in her small shop where you can also view beautiful handcrafted jewellery and bric brac.

Yiota will open the folk museum for us to visit. Cost 1e (additional to the ticket).

There will also be time to visit the church.

We will have time for coffee after the workshop. Then later visit a taverna for lunch [tbc]

Where to meet

Meeting Parekklesia Coffee Island [we can car pool] at 8.45 am. Travel to Kato Drys about 40 mins.
