About the Event

Have you ever wondered how a portrait artist captures the character of a person?

Come join us at this live demonstration of portraiture techniques.

Katharine Stinson studied fine art at Central St Martins and she is a renowned portrait artist.

She will show us how she builds a likeness in pastels - explaining her techniques as the picture progresses.

The model will be one of us who volunteers.  Afterwards, with a different model,  she will do a demonstration in oils.

The medium of oil is time consuming so we will learn how an artist uses just one colour to establish likeness using a 'find the light' technique.

You will be amazed at how the subject appears like magic!

Join us for this informal artistic voyage of discovery.
